Carla Fernàndez Boix
Festreeval Day 2 - Rachmaninov - Variations sur un thème de Chopin
Music has brought Catalan pianist Carla Fernàndez Boix to many countries in Europe.
Carla is often invited at the Didsbury Coffee Concerts in Manchester and she regularly performs at the concert series Cultuur Tijdens Het Middaguur in Breda, The Netherlands. She has played at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, at Piano City Milano Festival and at Concerts d’été en Vieille-Ville in Geneva. As chamber musician, she has performed at the Grieg in Bergen Festival with Dutch flutist Felix Niël and they have both been members of the Académie Musicale de Villecroze.
Future projects include a chamber music recital tour in Norway and the performance of Rachmaninov Piano Concerto no.2 in Birmingham with Solihull Symphony Orchestra, with whom she already performed the well-known first Piano Concerto by Tchaikovsky.
Carla got her Masters in Solo Performance with distinction at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester with Helen Krizos, and she finished her Bachelor of Music with Alan Weiss at Het Utrechts Conservatorium in The Netherlands. She remains grateful to her teachers Sebastián Colombo, an expert of Scaramuzza Method and with whom she studied in Barcelona as a teenager, and Dominique Weber, with whom she studied for a year at the Haute École de Musique de Genève.
